About the author:
Jerry M. Solich is a student at Northern Virginia Community College and completed this project as part of History 135 History of the Contemporary World. Mr. Solich previously served in the US Army as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC. Mr. Solich served in Afghanistan from 2007 to 2008 and reached the rank of Sergeant before leaving service. Mr. Solich currently resides in Northern Virginia with his wife and children.
